Join us for an exhibition of new works by Jessie Pollock.

JESSIE POLLOCK's encaustic paintings pay homage to nature in all its power and beauty. She embeds dry pigments, dried plants and seeds, oil paint, poetry and small pieces of music scores within the wax. Copies of insects, mostly on rice paper, add to the spontaneity of the action. Her series, "Sensitive Chaos" unravels the serenity so often associated with nature, to reveal the activity humming below the surface. "Try sitting in your garden one day very quietly. You will see and feel all the busyness surrounding you." "Vanishing Landscapes" is an extension of earlier work, based on the loss of open, rural land and once profitable farms.
