Flight: Explorations in Movement, Migration and Freedom
April 2, 2016 - June 26, 2016

Gallery artists, local students, and notable Syrian artists come together to interpret the concept of flight in this juried exhibition. This can be as simple as birds as the subject matter or an abstract painter’s expressionist representation of joyous movement, of airborne thought. Flight could also be concerned with the migration of hundreds of thousands of the Syrian people to freedom. There is no one interpretation.

West Branch Gallery will donate 100% of our commission from the sales of Syrian artwork and a portion of all other sales of works featured in the exhibition to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Syria and Yalla! Pour les Enfants.

This exhibition is presented is partnership with The Association pour la Promotion de l'Art Contemporain Syrian (SYRIA.ART), an organization which seeks to provide a diverse, open overview of the Syrian art scene and its talented Syrian artists, and to shed light on the dynamism currently characterising Contemporary Syrian Art in Syria, France, Europe and the rest of the world.
