My work is inspired by the rich textures, colours and shapes of natural forms and landscapes: fragments of sea-worn shells, the rock formations of a battered coastline, a curl of split bark, the dancing light and shadow of woodland. Working with steel, copper, silver and gold leaf, I also draw inspiration directly from the characteristics of the medium, allowing the metal to suggest a direction and bringing this together with intentional artistic elements. Strong forms work together with complex surface textures and colour to create pieces that have a powerful organic character. I work from my studio in rural Herefordshire; and exhibit my work in the UK and internationally.
